Having visited KAM Kartway on Sunday June 8, 2008 I was so impressed that I talked to the owners and staff about coming out on Father’s Day to do a feature. The idea was welcomed with friendly enthusiasm and it was agreed WWW.TRACK-ANNOUNCER.COM would come out to do the feature. I talked to Doug and Neal and found them to be as excited about it as I was so we decided to try something new. I setup a canopy, Doug had a banner made and Neal furnished table decorations. We haven’t tried anything like this before so we just shot from the hip as to how we operated. We agreed it would be a good idea to roll the Karts in front of the canopy to get Car/Driver photos (this worked very well for us). We had driver profile sheets to fill out so we had the information used to create the driver profile presentation on this feature. We each wrote our own recap of the day to add some “Meat” to the feature.
I was truly impressed as I watched the parents, friends and family (the crews) work with the young drivers and their cars to make sure both car and driver were ready to race. How they are able to get a four year old racer to concentrate long enough to compete with such a high degree of skill is beyond me. What a true family sport and I know of no better way to teach children the true value of life. These youngsters are learning life skills that will serve them well for the rest of their lives. What more could you ask of a Sunday afternoon activity?
No
less impressive was the way the track staff operated the racing program.
Professional is the word that comes to my mind as I reflect on what I was
able to observe. The facilities were
clean, well prepared and safe for all attending/participating in the event. Special recognition needs to be given
to the Rhome, TX fire department for the
Now for the racing … bottom line these racers put
on as good a show as any track I’ve been to … bar none.
I have heard people say these are tomorrow’s racers.
I whole heartedly disagree with that statement.

I would highly recommend you take a Sunday and check this track out. If you leave disappointed, well you definitely don’t have any racing blood in you!
Congratulations to KAM Kartway, staff, racers and fans you deserve a job well done!
